Burlap wreaths - on the simpler side

I've been making wreaths for a while now. This week, I made two wreaths that were more on the simpler side. I love how both of them turned out and am hoping for more interest in ones like this as, while they are simpler, they still make a statement. They can be made to match any decor as well or could be hung on the front door. Initials/monograms provide a personal touch but they don't have to be used. More flowers can be added or no flowers can be used and a bow could be attached. Options abound while maintaining the simpler side of burlap wreaths.

I was asked to make a giant yo-yo with a monogram center. I've been asked to do this before but it has been awhile. This one was to be done in black and white so I used 1.5" zebra ribbon layered on top of 3" black ribbon - both are grosgrain. The button is a black G on white fabric. A wonderful woman named Jenni Deal does all embroidery/monogram work for me. She is wonderful to work with and does beautiful work. Please contact me for details if you'd like to get in touch with her. Overall, I like how this one turned out and would love to create more. Please feel free to contact me for details of this one or visit my page on Facebook. Thank you!

Venturing into Vegetation

This past weekend, I went to Ridgecrest, in the mountains of NC, with my family. The weather was cool and absolutely beautiful. While I was there, I went to a large greenhouse with my mother-in-law and picked up some plants. I'll be branching out from what I'm comfortable dealing with into new worlds when it comes to vegetation and urging it along. Here is a picture of Georgie Girl doing some flower shopping of her own while my mother-in-law and I are perusing other varieties in the background. Stay tuned for further news of my ventures. I'll try to remember to come back and update you!

Summer in a wreath

One of the things I've recently started making is wreaths, in all sizes, colors, etc. This is one of the first ones I made, and, as such, it is like a first love. I love this one! However, prior to and since creating this one I've enjoyed making more similar to it as well as crafting new and unique options.

I enjoy learning how to do new things as well as continuing to improve on existing items. I say you never stop learning and this goes for handmade goods as well. So, join me on this journey. Follow along as I learn and maybe you'll pick up a trick or two as well. Thank you!
